About AiralSim

Independent eSIM guidance for UK travellers since 2022

Our Mission

AiralSim was founded in 2022 by a team of frequent travellers based in London who were frustrated by the lack of clear, unbiased information about eSIM services. We set out to create a resource that explains the Airalo platform honestly — including its limitations — so that travellers can make informed decisions before purchasing.

We are entirely independent. We receive no commission from Airalo or any other eSIM provider. Our content is based on hands-on testing, user feedback, and regular review of Airalo's published terms and conditions. When something changes — a new plan type, a policy update, a coverage expansion — we update our guides accordingly.

Who We Are

Our editorial team comprises four core contributors: a telecommunications researcher, a consumer rights specialist, a UX writer with a background in travel tech, and a software developer who manages our technical testing. Together, we cover the full spectrum of eSIM usage — from first-time travellers to business professionals managing multiple devices.

We are based at 14 Finsbury Square, London EC2A 1AH, United Kingdom and can be reached at [email protected] or by phone on +44 20 7946 0101.

Our Editorial Standards

Every guide on AiralSim follows a consistent quality framework:

  1. Accuracy: All factual claims are verified against Airalo's official documentation or tested directly on device.
  2. Completeness: We cover not just how to use the service, but when it may not be appropriate — including device restrictions, coverage gaps, and plan limitations.
  3. Transparency: We disclose our independence clearly and do not use affiliate links or sponsored placements.
  4. Accessibility: Our guides are written in plain English, with step-by-step instructions suitable for all levels of technical confidence.
  5. Currency: We review and update content at least quarterly, or immediately when significant changes occur.

What We Cover

Our content spans the complete Airalo user journey:

  • Device compatibility and carrier unlock requirements
  • Plan selection — local, regional, and global options
  • Purchase process and account management
  • eSIM installation on iOS, Android, and Windows devices
  • Data settings configuration and dual-SIM management
  • Troubleshooting connectivity, activation, and billing issues
  • Understanding fair use policies and data throttling
  • Comparing Airalo with alternative eSIM providers

Limitations & Disclaimers

Important: AiralSim is an independent information resource. We do not sell eSIM plans, process payments, or provide technical support on behalf of Airalo. For account-specific issues, billing disputes, or plan activation problems, contact Airalo directly through their official app or website.

Coverage and plan availability change frequently. Always verify current plan details on Airalo's platform before purchasing. Our guides reflect conditions as of the most recent review date shown on each page.

Contact & Feedback

We welcome corrections, suggestions, and reader experiences. If you spot an error or have a question not covered in our guides, please get in touch. We aim to respond to all substantive enquiries within two business days.
